Why did his mom introduce me to him?? Question at the end of the paragraph?

So my cousins have a lake house and they brought there friends up. There is a guy and he is my age hes so hot and i see him about once every summer. Ik it sucks.. But when he came up i caught him staring at me when i was playing badmitten with my cousin. He was sitting on the deck and he was like looking at me from afar. When i would walk in he was watching tv and he would glance over at me and stare at what i was wearing?? Was he checking me out there?? So this was the weird part. Later on his mom said come here Mitch. (Mitch is the guy i like) So she like introduced him to me.even though i already knew who he was. Was she introducing him to me because she would think mitch would like me??. He was standing right in front of me and she was like alyssas in your grade and shes going to be a freshman and she was just like kind of introducing us in a way. The weird thing was that he would not make eye contact with me and the whole time he was looking at his mom while she talked. Why wouldnt he make eye contact up close but he would from far away???
